Artists
The Austin Yam Jam™ has a history of bringing you the most amazing musicians in a small festival format. This year is no exception. We have assembled a list of great musicians that will play from 3:00 until 8:00 PM. Be sure to get to the show early to get the best seat.
We are proud to showcase the following artists:
Bob Schneider
Since going solo, he’s released a total of nine albums, including one he recorded with Mitch Watkins, Underneath the Onion Trees (2000). He’s received numerous Austin Music Awards and has toured as an opener with the Dixie Chicks. His latest album is called Lovely Creatures and arrives in stores the day after the Yam Jam™.
Malford Milligan
With his powerful, raspy voice and riveting stage presence, Austin-based singer Malford Milligan has drawn comparisons to such soul icons as Otis Redding and Al Green.
Alejandro Escovedo
In June 2008, Alejandro Escovedo released his 9th solo album Real Animal. Produced by Tony Visconti (David Bowie, T.Rex, Thin Lizzy), Real Animal is a collective journey through Escovedo’s various musical incarnations from punk rock to string quintets and is as introspective as it is retrospective. Recalling the people, places and influences that helped shape his career, Real Animal represents the primitive aspect of Escovedo’s music – the instinct, the urgency and a survivor mentality that fuels his musical passion.
