History
The Austin Yam Jam started in 2006 at Threadgill's World Headquarters as the sole means of funding the local effort, Operation Turkey. The event raises enough money each year to enable Operation Turkey to feed 40% of Austin's homeless and less fortunate at Thanksgiving.

In 2007 and 2008, Yam Jam proceeds helped feed 3,500 of the 8,000 homeless Austinites. In 2009, Yam Jam helped feed 4,000 of the estimated 10,000 homeless people in our town.

What we get is what we give. Please join us in helping feed the homeless and less fortunate people in your community. Here's how: www.operationturkey.com
