Operation Turkey
The Yam Jam™ raises money for Operation Turkey™, an Austin-based non-profit that feeds and clothes the homeless at Thanksgiving.
Operation Turkey was started in 2000 to promote community outreach during the Thanksgiving holiday. Operation Turkey organizes community distributions of food, clothes and toiletries to the homeless and less-fortunate around the country.
Since its inception, Operation Turkey has grown through community support from one meal to feeding 40% of Austin’s homeless.
