What is Operation Turkey?
It's simple. Operation Turkey provides hot meals, clothing, and toiletries to homeless and less fortunate people on Thanksgiving.

It started in 2000 when Richard Bagdonas, after his own Thanksgiving dinner with friends, delivered one meal to one hungry homeless person on the streets of Austin. Today, through dedicated community support and outreach, Operation Turkey is able to provide a Thanksgiving meal to 40% of Austin's homeless, all through community-organized distributions.

In 2007 and 2008, Yam Jam proceeds helped feed 3,500 of Austin's 8,000 homeless people. In 2009, Yam Jam helped feed 4,000 of the estimated 10,000 homeless people in our town.

What we get is what we give. Please join us in helping feed the homeless and less fortunate people in your community. Here's how: www.operationturkey.com
